Restored
Restored Beacon Network
At its simplest, a Restored Beacon is a place of welcome and safety for survivors. A church willing and able to support those who have been let down by people who were meant to love them.
Through befriending, peer support groups, and connecting with other local domestic abuse services, Restored Beacon churches are there to let survivors know that they’re not alone, and to provide care and practical support as they journey towards recovery.
Every Restored Beacon church receives three levels of domestic abuse training to ensure leadership teams and Restored Beacon volunteers are well equipped to respond safely and effectively to disclosures of domestic abuse.
We also provide ongoing support and access to resources and further training for all Restored Beacon leads, so that Restored Beacons are able to provide the best possible support to survivors of domestic abuse.
The aim of the Restored Beacon Network is to create safer churches, and to enable those who have been subjected to abuse to find restoration in body, soul and mind.
But it’s also to encourage and enable churches to challenge and change a culture that has normalised violence against women; to see God’s people take up the Biblical call to ‘Speak up and do something!” (Judges 19:30).
