The Way of Christa

By Caroline Mackenzie

The Way of Christa is a series of 9 bronze sculptures by Caroline Mackenzie, depicting the humanity of women.

The figures convey the woman on a journey, experiencing different states of her humanity.

Caroline says that while secular and religious art often shows edited versions of what it really means to be human as a woman, this series aims to show a fuller picture, and, with her personal reference as a Christian, her understanding of being made in the image of God.

All genders have been able to connect with these sculptures, giving space to consider their own experiences and the experiences of those around them. Caroline’s background gives her a particular passion that men might be willing to consider deeply the ways in which they value and respect the women around them.

It is hoped that these sculptures will continue to provide a tangible focus for reflection and discussion, which will enable insightful understanding of what it means for us all to be human in community with each other.

The Way of Christa sculptures come packed in three boxes with an easy-to-set-up display plinth and can be transported in a standard car. There is an additional option to mount the artworks for supervised outdoor exhibition. Please contact Westhill Endowment for more information.
