Hello Buddy
... in London
Hello Buddy aims to build interfaith connections for children aged 7–12. By focusing on building bridges, this project aims to strengthen interfaith relationships, promote empathy and create a harmonious community that values and respects religious differences and reduces prejudice. We host after school clubs and holiday camps throughout the year.
Hello Buddy has been up and running in Manchester for 18 months, and we are very grateful to the Westhill grant to help us launch in London !
We help the community to thrive and come together. The children take part in arts and craft activities, sports, learn about different artefacts, places of worship, join supper clubs to try food and celebrate festivals of faiths different to their own. All of our events are free - helping with the cost of living crisis.
Engaging young people in interfaith activity is an important way of fighting prejudice and hate crime, before it's begun. By having friends from different faiths, these young people will be able to understand the similarities and differences between people and have fun in the process.
