Youth Visionaries CIC
Bridges of Belief
Bridges of Belief is a youth-led interfaith project supporting young people aged 16–25 to explore identity, faith and shared values through creative dialogue. Delivered by Youth Visionaries CIC, the project creates safe, inclusive spaces where young people from different faiths and none can listen deeply, challenge stereotypes and build understanding. Through facilitated conversations, storytelling and reflective activities, the project strengthens empathy, confidence and community connection, helping young people become thoughtful leaders in an increasingly diverse society.
Bridges of Belief was created in response to what I see every day working with young people: many are growing up in diverse communities but rarely have safe, supported spaces to talk honestly about faith, identity and difference. When those conversations don’t happen, misunderstanding and isolation often take their place.
This project works with young people aged 16–25 from different religious backgrounds and from no faith at all. We bring them together in small, facilitated groups to explore belief, values, life experiences and shared hopes. The sessions use creative discussion, reflective exercises and storytelling to encourage listening, curiosity and respect rather than debate or persuasion.
The aim is not to change what anyone believes, but to help young people understand themselves and one another more deeply. By doing this, we build empathy, reduce prejudice and support young people to feel confident engaging across difference in their everyday lives.
The project reflects Youth Visionaries CIC’s wider mission to nurture emotionally aware, socially conscious young people who can contribute positively to their communities. It also aligns closely with Westhill Endowment’s commitment to religious education, faith-motivated community transformation and bridge-building between people of diverse backgrounds.
