Surrey Heath Faith Forum
The Surrey Heath Faith Forum are a group of volunteers based in Camberley.
Their aim is to promote knowledge, mutual understanding and respect for the different beliefs, practices, and traditions of the people of Surrey Heath and the wider community.
The volunteers run a number of activities which include:
- Holding educational interfaith assemblies in Surrey Heath Schools sharing their message of ‘Mutual Respect – Unity in Diversity’. Over the years they have visited almost all the Surrey Heath primary schools and one senior school.
- Holding communal meetings to celebrate both their similarities and differences, usually with food and sometimes music. In May 2023 they held a very successful interfaith Coronation celebration in Camberley Theatre.
- Hosting talks by individual speakers on matters of concern to those of different faiths and of none.
- When the need arises, then hold public interfaith vigils
Funding from Westhill Endowment will help them cover some of the costs of running these events.
The Surrey Heath Faith Forum was nominated for best Volunteer Team – Mayor’s Award 2022.
