Dear God...
“Hardly anyone can ever find God because God is right at the end of your mind after all the background thoughts are gone.”

What we need/ed:

Everyone in the team gave their time for nothing, and many materials were purchased and not claimed back.  But we did need some money for external expenses, for example insurance, coaches, walkie-talkies, cross and costume materials, St John Ambulance, refreshments, programmes and so on.  Our budget was for £2,500, but for the most part our estimates were wildly out.  In the end we raised £3,338 from a mixture of sources, including Westhill Endowment, and this has just about covered our total.

We asked for prayer, and we got it in shedloads.  We appeared in the Norwich Diocesan magazine in January, and a network of friends throughout Norfolk and further afield prayed for us regularly.  The results have been astounding.

We had some difficulty getting sufficient actors.  Most of the actual roles were male, but most of the available people were female.  We ended up using ladies wherever possible, and (a little known fact) three of Jesus’s twelve (non-speaking) disciples were in fact women.  What this shortage actually meant was that we had no understudies – absolutely everyone had to be well and present on Good Friday.  And rehearsals were difficult.  The only time we had everyone turning up at once was on the day itself.  But this had a positive effect – others had to act the parts for those not present, which gave everyone a better idea of the total play.
