Grants In Kind
Another Way of Making Grants
Westhill makes available, on free loan, educational resources that reflect commitment to the communication of faith values and the exploration of spiritual ideas. We are keen to encourage the imaginative use of these resources where applicants can demonstrate that their use will benefit the wider community.
Westhill deals with the transportation and initial setting up of the Good Grief sculptures on their plinths.
GoodGrief
Sculptor Jean Parker
The ‘Grant in Kind’ centres on eight sculptures by Jean Parker which deal with the personal loss and the grief process. They are generally loaned free of charge for a period of four weeks to religious and suitable educational community organisations such as cathedrals, churches, hospices, medical schools, hospitals and public art galleries.

Meaningful Embroideries: Pamela Pavitt
The embroideries are presented in two groups, one dealing with the ideas of peace and reconcilliation and the other the stewardship of the world we live in, creation and the environment. The Textiles are usually collected by car from Westhill Lodge.
The embroideries can be shown as separate groupings or combined in one exhibition. There are brief titles to each embroidery and visitors are encouraged to make their own interpretations.
New Ideas
Support for New Ideas
‘Grants in Kind’ is not a prescriptive formula, it is an idea of making grants in a different way that is consistent with Westhill’s overall mission and is helpful to grantees by enabling them to capitalise on the experience of others.
