All About Mia
Learning the Lacey way

‘All about Mia’ is a Theatre-In-Education, Citizenship themed day programme aimed at Key Stage Levels 3-4. With a combination of theatrical performances and interactive elements, ‘All about Mia’ is a great way to fulfill government guidelines for Personal Learning and Thinking Skills. It incorporates aspects of the national curriculum for Citizenship, History and RE.

This creative conference day will actively engage participants with issues relating to community cohesion such as, cooperation, empathy, discrimination, social justice and equality.

Session one: All About Mia

“All About Mia” creatively engages with the concept of community cohesion. Through meeting the character of “Mia”, participants embark on a quest to discover aspects of identity, both as individuals and a community. Using dramatic techniques students will explore their imaginations, break out of their comfort zones and have fun.

Session two: All About My Town

Learners take part in a story game, where teams compete to rebuild an imaginary country that has suffered a war. Participants must negotiate their way through dilemmas, evaluate arguments and make decisions as a group to win the game. Practical activities are mixed with role play and discussion to create a high impact learning experience.

What they say…

“LTC offer a dramatic experience that is tailored to the needs of your school, and if you are looking for an inventive, powerful and thought provoking experience, then I would thoroughly recommend them”
Adrian Penfold Head of Teaching and Learning Sutton Valence School
